Driving Townsend Smith Foundation's Vision for Compassionate End-of-Life Care
Hello, my name is Kim Kohlberger and I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Executive Director at Townsend Smith Foundation (TSF) effective June 24, 2024. It is an honor to be entrusted with the opportunity to support families and their loved ones at end-of-life and to bring much needed residential care close to home. As a resident of Halton, I am eager to be back working in Halton Hills having previously spent 11 years as a Program Director at Halton Healthcare. Passionate about palliative care and quality improvement, I hope to contribute to the development of a Hospice which is considered a Centre of Excellence and compassion.

At a time of significant momentum for the organization, I have immersed myself in this collaborative leadership role and am excited about the partnerships I have developed in such a short time. I have met members of the Townsend Smith Foundation Board, a group of amazing volunteers, a small but mighty staff of three, generous community partners and numerous government officials. I am truly astonished at their overwhelming commitment, enthusiasm and time invested in this project over many years.
 
With the ongoing support from our kind-hearted donors and community partners, this grass-roots organization is well positioned to bring the vision of a Hospice to North Halton to life. I am proud to be able to have joined such a remarkable organization and look forward to leading Townsend Smith Foundation (TSF) into the future.

We are immensely grateful for the unwavering dedication and hard work of our lovely volunteers! Your commitment to our mission and the countless hours and love that you have poured in to helping us make a difference is what encourages us to keep going. From organizing bottle drives, selling homemade dill pickles, t-shirts, and beautiful sunflowersā€”all with proceeds going directly to the Townsend Smith Foundation (TSF), we have raised vital funds that have brought us a few steps closer to our goal of building a hospice.
 
Although there is still a long way to go, it is your compassion, energy and generosity that are the driving forces behind all our accomplishments. Thank you all for everything you do for the Townsend Smith Foundation (TSF) and our communities.
